Thief 4 development coming along in 'leaps and bounds'

Our memory of the announcement of Thief 4 has long since been washed away by other sizable pieces of gaming news and releases -- however, Eidos Montreal boss Stephane D'Astous recently assured IncGamers that the dev team hasn't been slacking off since the game's big reveal. In an interview with the site, D'Astous claimed, "the team is making leaps and bounds," later adding, "personally I have never seen a team, at this milestone (middle of pre-production) in such good shape!"

eBay Maps Out Black Friday Online Transactions

While Black Friday has long been a popular phenomenon for brick and mortar stores, the deal frenzy has been extending to e-retailers and online stores. Now, sales on the web are equally as lucrative as those in the stores. eBay is launching a campaign to capitalize on the holiday shopping season, called “12 Days Of Deals,” and has also rolled out a new Deal-focused iPhone app and partnered with Microsoft to offer deals directly from Internet Explorer 8.

Today, the e-commerce giant is launching a interactive map that shows all of the transactions that took place on eBay on Black Friday. The map provides a visualization of all U.S.-based buyer and seller transactions that occurred on eBay on Black Friday.

As the clock runs, points will appear on the map, representing the occurrence of buyer and seller transactions on eBay. eBay says the map visualization is based on raw data that includes eBay sales and purchases occurring in approximately 33,000 U.S. ZIP codes.

Five years ago today, the Nintendo DS came to the United States. I was able to purchase a launch-day system, and I was so excited when games like Mario Kart came to the handheld device. Here are some of the highlights over the past five years.

Uwe Boll To Direct Bloodrayne 3 Movie

File this under "heaven help us all." Uwe Boll-- the man with an inexplicable skill in somehow turning video game film adaptations, themselves already the stuff of "meh", into works of pure torture to watch-- has apparently announced that he's going to direct a third movie in the Bloodrayne franchise. I must confess I haven't seen either of the first two movies; the bastardization of Alone in the Dark was quite enough for me, please and thank you. Secretary Screenwriter Pens Steamy New Show for HBO

Screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson had a big hit with Secretary in 2002. Well, maybe not a hit in the commercial sense, but definitely in the cultural sense; it’s a film that people still talk about, and which will likely continue to have a real presence for years to come. But Wilson hasn’t had a great many produced credits since then. Maybe her profile will rise once again thanks to Oprah and Harpo  Films, which is making a deal with HBO to produce a currently untitled show about a womanSource: SlashFilm RSS Feed

Sony Ericsson’s as-yet unannounced Kurara touchscreen smartphone has stayed still for long enough to get a non-blurry photo, and as you might have guessed it’s mobile-review’s Eldar Murtazin responsible for the shot.  The Kurara was originally described as a more entry-level version of the Sony Ericsson Satio, but according to Mutazin there’s actually a whole lot more to it than that: squeezed inside is an ARM Cortex A8 CPU complete with PowerVR GPU.

Net blunders have somewhat lost their shock value recently. Last week, though, the Net idiocy genre experienced a few dramatic twists.
